This is Home... where it all began. The birthplace of my Mother. Father. Grandmother. Grandfather.
The ones who came before.

And even though my siblings and I were born stateside, we were able to go home for the first time in 2007. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the land and of the people... My people. I remember

The smell of the air, the warmth of sun on my skin,

The kindness...

The pride...

The love...

And although it was my first and only time... I am certain it is where my heart has been all along

and where it will remain.

Now I know where I come from.
